Incident Investigations & Introduction to Human Organizational Performance (HOP)
This November our Risk Control Outreach, featured two insightful sessions designed to strengthen safety culture. Our November Risk Control Outreach covered Incident Investigations and Human & Organizational Performance (HOP), offering practical tools and fresh perspectives to improve organizational outcomes.
Session 1: Incident Investigations (30 minutes)
Discovered how investigations can be used as a learning tool to identify the causal factors of an incident. This course outlined how to use incident investigations to improve the system, discussed the importance of considering multiple causal factors and defined human error as a symptom, not a cause, of incidents.
Session 2: Introduction to HOP (45 Minutes)
What is Human and Organizational Performance? It’s a safety approach that recognizes how employees and processes influence each other. HOP isn’t just another program or set of rules. It’s a mindset, a way of thinking about work and its impact on people and processes. This course outlined the five principles of HOP and discussed how to implement them to help organizations achieve better results.
