GREELEY, Colo. - April 7, 2026 - Flood and Peterson has announced leadership appointments that align with the firm's continued growth and long-term focus.
Whitney Shupe has been appointed President and Chief Operating Officer, and Brett Kemp has been named Chief Growth Officer.
As President and Chief Operating Officer, Shupe will lead the firm’s day-to-day operations and execution. She has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry and has held a number of leadership roles at Flood and Peterson, where she has been closely involved in shaping the firm’s operating model and developing its people.
Kemp will continue to lead enterprise growth, market expansion, and key relationships as Chief Growth Officer. He has played a central role in the firm’s growth strategy and client development efforts.
Royal Lovell, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Flood and Peterson, said the appointments reflect continuity and confidence in the firm’s leadership. “Whitney and Brett have each earned the trust of our people and our clients over many years,” Lovell said. “Whitney brings a steady, thoughtful leadership style to how we operate and support our teams, while Brett has been instrumental in expanding our presence and deepening key relationships. This structure allows both of them to focus on what they do best and supports the way we’ve built the firm.”
In addition, Kelly Beauvais will lead Operations and Talent Development, Debbie Gray will lead Practice Groups, and Jamie Wood as Chief Financial Officer.
“This is a purposeful evolution of how we lead,” said Lovell. “We are aligning our structure to match where we are going, creating greater clarity in how we operate, how we grow, and how we serve.”
As one of the largest privately held, employee-owned insurance brokerages in the Rocky Mountain region, Flood and Peterson continues to differentiate itself through its independence and specialized services. Without private equity backing or outside shareholders, the firm remains focused on long-term relationships, consistent service, and sustained investment in its people and infrastructure.
