Lockout-Tagout Requirements and Best Practices
Join our April Risk Control Outreach to discuss the core requirements for control of hazardous energy regulation, also known as lockout-tagout and lockout-tagout blockout, how to create equipment-specific energy control procedures, and the relationships between the lockout-tagout regulation (29 CFR 1910.147), machine guarding regulations (1910 Subpart O), and electrical safety regulations (1910 Subpart S).
The lockout-tagout standard is intended for general industry; however, service and construction employers will also find it beneficial to attend, as owners, host-employers, and general contractors often require compliance with this regulation.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Identify the relationships between lockout-tagout, machine guarding, and electrical safety.
- List the core requirements of the control of hazardous energy regulation
- Describe the basic process for completing equipment-specific energy control procedures
