Brett Kemp
President
Brett Kemp joined Flood and Peterson in 2007 and currently serves as the President of the agency. He has nearly two decades of insurance industry experience and believes in continually developing staff members, mentoring leadership, and proactively helping our clients reduce their total cost of risk. Brett holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
Community investment is a foundational core value of Flood and Peterson, and this commitment remains the same today. Brett stewards this core value through his long-standing and active involvement throughout the communities where our clients and employees live and work. He currently serves as the Board Chair for the Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce, is on the Board of Directors for the Colorado Advanced Manufacturing Association and sits on the Finance Committee for the United Way of Larimer County.

Brian Schiller joined Flood and Peterson in 2000 as a Risk Advisor, and currently serving the broker as a Shareholder. With over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, Brian provides his expertise in advising clients on their risk management and insurance needs. He is entrenched in the Agribusiness industry.
Brian graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He currently maintains his Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation. Brian serves on the HICHAS Advisory Board, the Agency Council for Nationwide Agribusiness, and has previously served on the Colorado Livestock Association board. He continues to stay involved in the local community through volunteer efforts through the United Way of Weld County.

Eric Zurbrigen joined the Flood and Peterson team in 2011 as a Risk Advisor and has been in the industry ever since. Eric has extensive experience advising Municipalities, Construction, Property, and Commercial Automobile.
Eric graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He maintains his Commercial Lines Coverage Specialist (CLCS) designation and stays up to date with current insurance and business trends. Eric’s commitment to local communities is a top priority. Jamie May has been a Risk Advisor at Flood and Peterson since 2010. Jamie has over ten years of experience in the insurance industry and managing client relationships. He specializes in advising small to medium-size organizations understand their entire risk profile.

Kelly Beauvais

Kelly has worked at F&P since 1997. Her current role as Director of Operations gives her the opportunity to work with everyone in the agency. Kendra is our Employee Benefits Director, she has more than 20 years of experience in employee benefits and has been with Flood and Peterson since 2012. Kendra leads our Benefits Department and assists in the development and management of strategic plans designed to help organizations reduce their total cost of employee benefits and gain control back in their benefits programs.
Kendra holds a Bachelor of Administration in Speech Communication from Colorado State University. She currently serves on the board Northern Colorado Association of Health Underwriters previously as President and Legislative Chair.
Kendra is accomplished and recognized professional in the areas of health care reform and Professional Employer Organizations. Among other licensures, Kendra is PPACA certified and has been certified with Connect for Health Colorado.

Kristen Hopkins serves as an Employee Benefits Advisor. She has been in the industry since 2015 and joined Flood and Peterson in 2022. With a foundation in Client Relations, Kristen has a proven track record of collaboration. Royal Lovell
Chairman & CEO
Royal Lovell joined Flood and Peterson in 1998 and is the Chairman and CEO. He is a stockholder and a member of the Board of Directors. Royal leads the mission, vision, and strategic direction of the Company. His leadership provides broad industry experience and knowledge focused on positively impacting key stakeholders – Flood and Peterson employees, clients, insurance carrier partners, and communities.
With a strong belief in Flood and Peterson’s foundational core value of investment, engagement, and advancement of our local communities, Royal actively holds numerous leadership roles throughout the community. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Employers Council and Catholic Charities. He is a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) and also a member of the Business Advisory Committee for Weld County School District 6.
Royal has served on numerous Boards including the Northern Colorado Medical Center Foundation, Weld Community Foundation, One NOCO, and various business advisory Boards. He has been active in many philanthropic campaigns in the past, including serving as the Corporate Sponsor Chair for the American Cancer Society Cattle Barons Ball, and on the Corporate Campaign Committee for United Way of Weld County.

Sabrina Nowling

Sabrina joined Flood and Peterson in 2019 after an extensive 28-year career in the banking and mortgage lending industry.
Sabrina has more than 17 years of experience in marketing and business development. Sabrina manages all day-to-day marketing and communications as well as brand development, advertising campaigns, event coordination and working with our not-for-profit initiatives and sponsorships. She has previously worked for several national and regional banking and mortgage entities in both marketing and business development as well as having an extensive background in lending, underwriting, and financial sales.
Sabrina especially enjoys generating new business and goodwill in the community by promoting Flood and Peterson’s unique value proposition. Sabrina graduated from Taylor University with a bachelor’s degree in Business and Finance. Sabrina is a 2017 recipient of the Aksel Nielsen Award. She also sits on the board for Project Smile and volunteers with The Gardens on Spring Creek.

Shadia joined Flood & Peterson in 2019 and brings nearly 20 years of management and operations experience in the insurance field across multiple industry segments, including construction, habitational and property management, health, and human services, not-for-profit, and transportation. With expertise in supporting client service, sales and marketing, product development, policy language, legal and regulatory compliance, and financial oversight, Shadia provides tried and true insight to help clients make informed business decisions. Shadia holds her Certified Insurance Counselor designation, among other licensures and certifications.
Shadia holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Colorado State University. She serves as the Vice Chair on the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation Colorado Board of Directors and continues a family legacy serving as a Rotarian with the Denver Tech Center Rotary. A Colorado native, she is passionate about serving the communities we live and work.

Whitney Shupe

Whitney Shupe joined Flood and Peterson in 2003 and is the Chief Operations Officer. She is a member of the Board Directors. In her role as Chief Operations Officer, Whitney leverages her more than a decade of experience in the execution of operational strategies to optimize efficiency, management of resources to ensure financial strength and alignment of organizational goals and employees.
Whitney is focused on the advancement of Flood and Peterson’s growth culture through her leadership in recruitment, development, and guidance of key personnel. In addition to providing vision and strategic direction for Flood and Peterson’s value-added service platforms, she assists in the creation of strategies concentrated on the enhancement of the client experience, operational excellence and continued advancement of significant insurance carrier relationships.
Whitney received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Indiana Wesleyan University. She is a PEP (Power of Extended Philanthropy) member of the Women’s Foundation of Colorado; a generous, passionate and diverse group of leaders who believe in creating change.

Will Rich
Risk Advisor
William Rich joined Flood and Peterson in 2022 as a Risk Advisor. He has been in the insurance industry since 2012 and worked for some of the largest agencies in the country. He gravitated to Flood and Peterson because of the focus on the clients, not the stock price. William has extensive knowledge of Experience Modification Analysis and will primarily focus his time in the Construction and Transportation segments. Will graduated with a B.S. in Legal Studies from Indiana University. He holds the CIC, AAI, and AU designations. He also serves on the Colorado Ready Mix Association Safety Board.
