Aaron Eide joined Flood and Peterson in 2011 as a Risk Advisor. Aaron has over 20 years of experience in managing complex client relationships. He has a keen understanding of the exposures various organizations face. Aaron specializes in Real Estate, Construction, Public Entities, Manufacturing, and Distribution.

Aaron received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of North Dakota and a Graduate Degree in Banking from the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado.  Aaron currently serves as the Board of Trustees as past Chairman for Colorado Youth Outdoors.

As a Personal Insurance Advisor for Flood and Peterson, Ashley Balais specializes in creating comprehensive personal insurance and risk management programs for successful individuals and families. After experiencing her own painful loss from a housefire in 2016, Ashley became passionate about helping others understand the importance of properly safeguarding their assets.

Whether working directly with affluent individuals and families themselves, or by partnering with other trusted advisors such as financial planners, estate planning attorneys, and family offices, she is committed to providing thorough coverage reviews, identifying possible liability exposures or gaps in coverage, and crafting personalized insurance strategies for each client’s unique needs and lifestyle.

Outside of the office, Ashley enjoys spending time hiking and camping with her dog, international travel, trying new restaurants with friends, and spending time volunteering and fundraising for several non-profits in the Denver community.

Bob Murphy has over 30 years of experience in the management and marketing of complex client accounts. He has a keen understanding of the exposures construction companies face, and expertise in the design and implementation of risk management and insurance solutions for our clients. Bob holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from the University of Northern Colorado.

Brett Kemp joined Flood and Peterson in 2007 and currently serves as the President of the agency. He has nearly two decades of insurance industry experience and believes in continually developing staff members, mentoring leadership, and proactively helping our clients reduce their total cost of risk. Brett holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

Community investment is a foundational core value of Flood and Peterson, and this commitment remains the same today. Brett stewards this core value through his long-standing and active involvement throughout the communities where our clients and employees live and work. He currently serves as the Board Chair for the Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce, is on the Board of Directors for the Colorado Advanced Manufacturing Association and sits on the Finance Committee for the United Way of Larimer County.

Brian Schiller joined Flood and Peterson in 2000 as a Risk Advisor, and currently serving the broker as a Shareholder. With over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, Brian provides his expertise in advising clients on their risk management and insurance needs. He is entrenched in the Agribusiness industry.

Brian graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He currently maintains his Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation. Brian serves on the HICHAS Advisory Board, the Agency Council for Nationwide Agribusiness, and has previously served on the Colorado Livestock Association board. He continues to stay involved in the local community through volunteer efforts through the United Way of Weld County.

Carson Simms joined Flood and Peterson in 2023 as an Associate Risk Advisor and has spent the last several years as a Worldwide Account Manager for a prominent international shipping company. Carson double majored in Communication Studies and Organizational Leadership at Chapman University in Orange County, CA. Carson holds his P&C license and is a member of the Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce. Carson’s father owned his own agency, and his sister, Kelsey, also works for Flood and Peterson as an Associate Risk Advisor. Taking on his father’s legacy while assisting people in protecting themselves and their livelihoods resonates with him, as does volunteering.
In his free time, Carson enjoys spending time with his wife Shelli camping, fishing, golfing, traveling, and walking their two dogs. Carson and his wife are also avid foodies who love to try new recipes at home while traveling to sample new and exotic culinary options.
Carson focuses on commercial business insurance and hopes that his experience in the supply chain industry will assist in better understanding his clients’ needs. Carson looks forward to assisting clients in protecting their assets, employees, and all facets of their business.

Dani Beauvais joined Flood and Peterson in 2019 as an Associate Risk Advisor, specializing in Transportation. He has more the 25 years of experience in the Transportation industry. He understands the unique exposures and business needs of the industry. Dani works closely with premier trucking insurance carriers to provide clients with exceptional service.

Dani maintains his STAR and QCLS designations.

Devon Beitzel joined Flood and Peterson as a Risk Advisor in 2014 and he has nearly 10 years of experience in the insurance industry. Devon values building relationships with clients and building the ideal insurance and risk management solutions. He has expertise in advising many industries, including Construction, Energy, Manufacturing, and Transportation.

Devon received his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Northern Colorado. Devon’s deep-rooted values in the Northern Colorado community have led to his involvement as Past Chair and current Board Member of Partners Mentoring Youth and membership in Northern Colorado United for Youth.

Eric Zurbrigen joined the Flood and Peterson team in 2011 as a Risk Advisor and has been in the industry ever since. He understands the value of building relationships with his clients to evaluate their needs and assist them in selecting optimal insurance products. Eric has extensive experience advising Municipalities, Construction, Property, and Commercial Automobile.

Eric graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He maintains his Commercial Lines Coverage Specialist (CLCS) designation and stays up to date with current insurance and business trends. Eric’s commitment to local communities is a top priority. He currently serves as a board member for the Northern Colorado Chapter of Junior Achievement.

Erik Damrell joined Flood and Peterson in 2022 as an Associate Risk Advisor in our Agribusiness department. Erik has over 8 years of agricultural industry experience. With a foundation in client services, sales and farm operations Erik has a proven track record of problem solving and attention to detail. Erik focuses on agricultural business insurance coverage by creating strategies to manage risk and protect client assets. Erik graduated from Western State Colorado University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business.

Gavin Glanz joined Flood and Peterson in 2023 as an Associate Risk Advisor. Gavin has spent previous time working in the personal insurance and construction industries. Gavin received his bachelor’s degree from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Gavin holds his P&C and Life and Health license. Gavin gravitated towards the insurance industry because he enjoys building relationships and believes in adding predictability and security to his clients’ financial planning.

In his free, time Gavin enjoys volunteering in his community and spending time with his wife and their four children.
Gavin focuses on commercial business insurance. He looks forward to assisting his clients to better understand market trends and providing a thorough evaluation of their insurance options.

Jamie May has been a Risk Advisor at Flood and Peterson since 2010. Jamie has over ten years of experience in the insurance industry and managing client relationships. He specializes in advising small to medium-size organizations understand their entire risk profile.

He maintains his Certified Insurance Consultant (CIC) designation and is actively working on completing his Certified Risk Manager (CRM) designation. Jamie is actively involved in the Northern Colorado community. He is a current board member for CHAMP and previously served on the board for the Boys and Girls Club of Larimer County.

As an advisor, John values client relationships and providing optimal insurance and risk management programs. He has experience working with a variety of industries, including Construction, Manufacturing, Oil and Gas, and Technology.

John received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Colorado State University. He remains active in the local community through the Fort Collins Chamber of Commerce and he serves on the Northern Colorado Committee of the Associated General Contractors of Colorado.

Kelly has worked at F&P since 1997. Her current role as Director of Operations gives her the opportunity to work with everyone in the agency. Kelly’s role allows her to onboard new hires and helps them learn the F&P Way to enhance the customer experience we provide. Kelly also gets the pleasure of implementing new processes, procedures, and technology to help the agency gain efficiencies and stay relevant in the insurance industry. Kelsey Simms joined Flood and Peterson in 2023 and has been in the industry since 2015. Kelsey is a Colorado native and graduated from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor of Science degree as well as her MBA. Kelsey specializes in the Human and Social Services industry. Kelsey believes in working hands on with businesses and their owners to provide a premium product, service, and overall understanding of their risk portfolio. Kelsey volunteers with various social services organizations including the Alzheimer’s Association, and animal rescue/rights organizations.

Kendra is our Employee Benefits Director, she has more than 20 years of experience in employee benefits and has been with Flood and Peterson since 2012. Kendra leads our Benefits Department and assists in the development and management of strategic plans designed to help organizations reduce their total cost of employee benefits and gain control back in their benefits programs.

Kendra holds a Bachelor of Administration in Speech Communication from Colorado State University. She currently serves on the board Northern Colorado Association of Health Underwriters previously as President and Legislative Chair.

Kendra is accomplished and recognized professional in the areas of health care reform and Professional Employer Organizations. Among other licensures, Kendra is PPACA certified and has been certified with Connect for Health Colorado.

Kevin Cruz joined Flood and Peterson as an Employee Benefits Advisor in 2023. Kevin brings with him over 17 years of employee benefits industry experience. Kevin has a foundation in client sales and service, along with a proven track record of development and management of strategic employee benefit programs. Kevin focuses on helping organizations strategize to reduce their overall cost of benefits.

In his free time, Kevin enjoys attending Colorado sporting events, camping, playing golf and spending time with his family.

Kristen Hopkins serves as an Employee Benefits Advisor. She has been in the industry since 2015 and joined Flood and Peterson in 2022. With a foundation in Client Relations, Kristen has a proven track record of collaboration. Kristen has led the development of long-term benefits strategy for businesses of all sizes and in many industries.  Along with her diverse background in Employee Benefits, Kristen also has extensive claims and resolution experience.  Kristen graduated from Arizona State with a bachelor’s degree in Business.  Kristen has previously volunteered with the Boys and Girls Club and her local Food Bank.

Lynda Mitch joined Flood and Peterson as a Personal Lines Account Executive in 2014. She has over 30 years of personal insurance experience. She provides individual risk analysis for our clients, solving their unique coverage issues and has obtained the designations of CAPI, CPRM, CIC and AAI. In addition to participating in community outreach, Lynda is a member of Chapter CR PEO.

Michael is a native of Colorado and graduate of University of Colorado, Boulder. After graduating college, Michael traveled and lived in Alaska. He completed a Colorado Outward Bound course and spend eight years teaching and coaching middle school kids. Michael made the transition into insurance and used his education background extensively to help business, their owners, and employees understand insurance; what it’s for and what it’s not for. Michael has over 30 years of experience working extensively with Non-Profits, businesses and agencies serving vulnerable populations and is very well respected in the community. Michael has also served on the board for the ARC of Arapahoe and Douglas County. In his free time Michael enjoys cooking and spending time with his wife and Golden Retriever.

Royal Lovell joined Flood and Peterson in 1998 and is the Chairman and CEO. He is a stockholder and a member of the Board of Directors. Royal leads the mission, vision, and strategic direction of the Company. His leadership provides broad industry experience and knowledge focused on positively impacting key stakeholders – Flood and Peterson employees, clients, insurance carrier partners, and communities.

With a strong belief in Flood and Peterson’s foundational core value of investment, engagement, and advancement of our local communities, Royal actively holds numerous leadership roles throughout the community. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Employers Council and Catholic Charities. He is a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) and also a member of the Business Advisory Committee for Weld County School District 6.

Royal has served on numerous Boards including the Northern Colorado Medical Center Foundation, Weld Community Foundation, One NOCO, and various business advisory Boards. He has been active in many philanthropic campaigns in the past, including serving as the Corporate Sponsor Chair for the American Cancer Society Cattle Barons Ball, and on the Corporate Campaign Committee for United Way of Weld County.

Royal received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from North Dakota State University.

He is strategic in the management and marketing of large client accounts, while building and maintaining business relationships. Through his experience, he has developed a wide array of skills and knowledge in risk management, surety, and business consulting. Sean is well versed in the exposures clients face from a variety of industries, including Commercial, Construction, Manufacturing, Transportation, and Environmental.

Sean received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Redlands. He maintains his Commercial Lines Coverage Specialist (CLCS) designation.

Tim Rennau joined Flood and Peterson as a Risk Advisor in 2013. Tim has been in the insurance and Agribusiness industries for over ten years. Tim’s specialization and expertise in the Agribusiness insurance industry assists him in providing clients with the best results in their insurance and risk management programs. He maintains client relationships across all areas of the Agribusiness industry, including farms, feedlots, dairies, manufacturers, agronomy services, and equine operations.

Tim graduated from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agribusiness. Tim holds and maintains his Certified Insurance Counselor designation.

Tyler Patterson joined Flood and Peterson in 2023 and has spent 7 years working as a Safety Manager in the general contracting industry. Tyler holds a Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management from Slippery Rock University and graduated with honors. Tyler holds his CSP designation and is currently a member of the Associated Builders and Contractors Young Professionals group and the Future Leaders Forum for the Association of General Contractors. Tyler’s father owns his own agency, and he appreciates the fact that the industry always provides something new to learn and that every day is different. In his free time Tyler enjoys being outside hunting, skiing, running, clay shooting and traveling. Tyler volunteers for Food for Thought in Denver.
Tyler focuses on commercial business insurance while his field experience assists in the understanding of his client’s needs. Tyler is a true business partner and an asset to his clients in the Denver community.

Whitney Shupe joined Flood and Peterson in 2003 and is the Chief Operations Officer. She is a member of the Board of Directors. In her role as Chief Operations Officer, Whitney leverages her more than a decade of experience in the execution of operational strategies to optimize efficiency, management of resources to ensure financial strength and alignment of organizational goals and employees.

Whitney is focused on the advancement of Flood and Peterson’s growth culture through her leadership in recruitment, development, and guidance of key personnel. In addition to providing vision and strategic direction for Flood and Peterson’s value-added service platforms, she assists in the creation of strategies concentrated on the enhancement of the client experience, operational excellence and continued advancement of significant insurance carrier relationships.

Whitney received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Indiana Wesleyan University. She is a PEP (Power of Extended Philanthropy) member of the Women’s Foundation of Colorado; a generous, passionate and diverse group of leaders who believe in creating change.

William Rich joined Flood and Peterson in 2022 as a Risk Advisor. He has been in the insurance industry since 2012 and worked for some of the largest agencies in the country. He gravitated to Flood and Peterson because of the focus on the clients, not the stock price. William has extensive knowledge of Experience Modification Analysis and will primarily focus his time in the Construction and Transportation segments. Will graduated with a B.S. in Legal Studies from Indiana University. He holds the CIC, AAI, and AU designations.  He also serves on the Colorado Ready Mix Association Safety Board.
